My name is Jan Jakeš and I’m a software engineer based in Brno, Czech Republic.

I built Product Feedback from scratch as the first developer and a CTO, I worked full-stack at MailPoet, I was a backend and infrastructure engineer and a CTO at Tripomatic (Sygic Travel), and I freelanced as a web developer.

I’m a perfectionist. I like clean, self-documenting, strongly-typed code. I like to automatize everything and keep things simple and minimalist. I try to get to the bottom of things and understand them in-depth.

I have a master’s degree in Computer Science. During my studies at Brno University of Technology I spent a year at University of Avignon in France and another one in a research group at University of California, San Diego where I also wrote my thesis.

I speak English, French, and Czech.

I’m a husband, father, and a cat-father. I love mountains, running, and lately bouldering.
